Alternatively, mix a little bit of mild detergent and some warm water together, and dab a white towel (or white paper towel or tissue) in the mixture. Then blot in a circular motion (don’t ever rub, as you’ll spread the Spot or Stain and make it larger) the detergent-water dabbed section of the towel, from the outside of the Spot in towards the centre of the Spot until all of the Spot residue is removed.

Then dab the towel in some warm water to Clean and Rinse the area where the Spot was. Then use a dry section of the towel and blot again to dry the Carpet ensuring no residue remains from the Spot or water-detergent mixture.
